Charles Wyman “Blackie” Shouse

Charles Wyman “Blackie” Shouse, age 69, of Lerose, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson.
Born on September 21, 1955, Blackie was the son of the late Buddy and Vernedia Little Shouse. He was a retired mechanic and a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserves, where he honorably served his country for six years.
Blackie was a man of many talents and a big heart. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, drawing and painting, and working on vehicles. But more than anything, he cherished time spent with his family and his faithful dog and companion, Puggsley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Odette Kay “Odie” Shouse, and his son, Coty Shouse. He is also survived by his estranged sons, Michael Shouse and Joshua Shouse; estranged daughters, Brittany and Mandey; two brothers, David Shouse and Randy Shouse; and one sister, Joy Coppock. Blackie leaves behind 23 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Euless Gene Shouse and Jimmy Shouse, and one sister, Wendy Asbury.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Charles Wyman “Blackie” Shouse on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Owsley Co. Park, Shelter #2 in Booneville, Kentucky. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend and share memories as we celebrate the life of a man who left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
He will be interred in the C.W. Shouse Cemetery at a later date.
